Set-4, 1890's Double Pressed Back, Rabbit Ear Dining Chairs
A very attractive set of double pressed back chairs with what we call "rabbit ears" , which are tall finials on each side of the back. The chairs are from the 1890's. All of the spindles are turned. There are three rungs on the front of each chair and three on each side. The extra rungs provide good stability and are higher quality. The original seats were black oilcloth. This set is stunning now refinished. The chairs were re-glueing for stability, a new dark finish added with new brown upholstery. Dimensions of the chairs are: 41" tall to the top of the "rabbit ears", and the seat area is 18 1/4 wide, and 6 3/4" deep.
