Early General Store Lucky Strike Tobacco Advertising Gallery Clock
This very quaint advertising clock has been in our personal collection for several years. We have decided to let it go to a new home! This clock is solid walnut with all original works. Manufactured by New Haven Mfg., it was used to advertise Lucky Strike Tobacco at the turn of the century (early 1900's). A similar clock is featured in page 34 of "General Store Collectibles" by David L. Wilson. The solid dark walnut gallery clock has the original bezel. The paper on the metal face says "R.A. Patterson Tob. Cos. - Lucky Strike Tobacco." The face shows wear from age and one very light water spot on the upper left edge, but is in very good condition. The works and pendulum are original. We just had it professionally cleaned, oiled and adjusted. Two bearings had to be replaced and the verge adjusted. The finish of the clock is original. The trap door for the pendulum on the bottom has a very old wood repair opposite it. It does not detract from the beauty of the clock and is not noticeable except when you inspect it underneath closely. The dimensions of the clock are: 16" in diameter and 5" deep. We have enjoyed this advertising clock very much, and we hope you do, too!
