Late 1960's Wilesco Toy Steam Engine w/ Box

This toy steam engine was manufactured in West Germany by Wilesco. It is model D-5, with its original box. The original owner purchased it on sale at Woolworth's for $1.77 in the late 1960's! The steam engine has only been operated once to see if it worked properly....it does. It is made of pressed steel, with a copper furnace and nickel plated boiler. The dimensions of the engine are: 8" long, 5" wide, and 8 3/8" tall to the top of the chimney. The box is in excellent condition, with a little edge wear and a hole on top where the steam valve came through, probably when stored. Nice graphics on the box, complete with the Woolworth labels!
