Atterbury "Chapman" Oil Lamp with Gem Base
This lamp is a very petite and attractive lamp, manufactured by the Atterbury Company, circa 1865-70. Standing at 15 1/8" tall with chimney, it is a very small lamp.It is a very special and quaint lamp, with a ball shaped font in a clear pressed ribbon and dot pattern. It may be the Olympic pattern, but we are not certain. It has a brass ribbed collar attaching it to the white milk glass gem base. It stands 9 ½" tall without chimney. The chimney is most likely an older replacement. The only flaw is one elongated (1" by 1/16") air bubble in the glass near the top brass collar. It is identified in the kerosene lamp books as an Atterbury "Chapman" with milk glass gem base. A unique and beautiful lamp to add to your collection!
