Wilcox Silverplate Breakfast Castor with 2 Salt Dips
A very diminutive and very ornate castor set by the Wilcox Silverplate Company. The quadruple plate frame features four winged griffins with ball & claw feet. The Greek key design is around the base of each section, with a center arched handle. The 4 castor bottles are teardrop shaped, and are cut and etched with the same floral designs. One of the stoppers appears to be an old replacement, but is so similar in size and style it is not readily noticeable, and does not detract from its beauty. The two silverplate salt dips are removable from the frame. There is no mustard spoon. The dimensions of this exquisite set are: Frame: 10 1/4" tall, 8" wide, and 5 1/8" in diameter. The tallest bottles: 6 3/4" tall, and 2 1/8" in diameter. A real find for the serious collector of Victoriana!
