Matched Set of Red Stenciled Fanning Mills, Pat. 1905

How many fanning mills have you seen, let alone two matched ones?! These two Chatam grain fanning mills are excellent American primitive pieces! Stenciled on the front of each is "The Chatam Fanning Mills, Mfg. by The Manson Campbell Co. Limited, Detroit, Mich., Pat.d. Dec. 12, 1905" (see picture). The mills are painted red, with mustard yellow and green stenciling and trim. The paint is all original with very little loss to either. The grain was placed in the upper tray and was filtered down through two trays while it was being cranked to remove the chaff. All the parts are present, and they are in excellent working condition. The dimensions are 18 1/8" long, 15 3/4" wide, and 23 1/4" tall. We feel these would make wonderful end tables, so we have purchased two custom glass pieces with rounded edges and corners for the top of each fanning mill. What conversation pieces!!!
