(Item: 4680C)

Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!

1882 Doulton Burslem 7 pc. Blue & Gold Floral Chamber Set

An early and elegant porcelain chamber set in near perfect condition. There are seven pieces; pitcher and bowl, soap dish with lid, chamber pot with lid, and cup (possibly toothbrush  holder). The set pattern is blue floral, with gilt highlights and gilt trim. The borders on the pieces are paisley-influenced. We are charmed by the pattern and quality of the chamber set. This set is fully backstamped under the glaze "Doulton, Burslem," with the crown logo in blue. In addition, the pitcher, bowl, cup, soap dish, and chamber pot are marked ":737" in red hand painted numerals. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs on any piece, except the cup, which has two faint interior short hairlines on one side. They are hardly seen, but must be mentioned for accuracy. The dimensions of each piece are; pitcher 11 1/4" tall by 9 1/2" wide, bowl 15 1/4" in diameter by 4 7/8" tall, soap dish with lid 3 3/4" tall by 5 1/2" in diameter, chamber pot with lid 8 1/2" tall with lid by 9 1/4" diameter by 10 1/4" wide w/handle, and cup is 3 1/8" diameter by 4" tall. A very fine chamber set, which would be fabulous in your victorian boudoir!
