1890's Blonde German China Turned Head Doll w/Blue Eyes

This lovely china head doll was part of an extensive antique doll collection from Salida, Colorado. The owner was a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs (UFDC) for many years. Many of her dolls won numerous ribbons at UFDC conventions. This is a blonde china head doll, common hairdo style, low brow. Her head is turned slightly to the right. Her eyebrows are brown, and she has blue eyes, rosy cheeks, with red lid lines and nostril accents. She has her original body, linen stuffed with sawdust. She has a vertical red cloth corset style insert at the front of her torso. She has been lovingly restored and re-stitched in spots, and some cloth mending tape has been used at the base of her torso, at her right knee, left elbow,and one side of her shoulder plate within the last fifty years. Her china hands and feet are original and in perfect condition, no chips or cracks. Her head is in great condition, no repairs, only one tiny edge flake on one edge of her shoulder plate. She has some age wear on the soles of her shoes. Her garter ribbons are painted on in brown. Her clothing was made for her in the 1960's. She has white bloomers with lace, a white lace trimmed slip, a red velvet dress with a bustle and black velvet trim, and a black velvet hooded coat with green satin lining. The clothing is clean and in excellent condition. She wears a vintage corsage pin with artificial carnations, and she has a repaired vintage rhinestone bar pin as a dress front decoration. She is 21" long. Her shoulder plate/head is 6" tall, and 4 1/2" wide at the shoulder. This is a very collectible and attractive china head doll in need of a new, loving home!
