1917 Weller Woodcraft Squirrel & Nut Humidor
This beautiful Weller pottery humidor is one of the harder to find ones that is still intact. This is a Weller Pottery "Woodcraft" 1917 pattern humidor. The rustic design features a standing squirrel eating a nut on a large acorn, amid oak leaves and acorn shells. The green and brown matte finish is in excellent condition, with very faint tiny age crazing. There is one minute edge flake on the interior base rim that is extremely hard to see, but must be mentioned for accuracy. The squirrel is in perfect condition, no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a few factory under glaze specks on the acorn interior. The base is deeply impressed "Weller" in upper case letters. The green matte wash paint on the base swirls in one spot to create the illusion of a hairline, but it is only a paintbrush stroke. The humidor is; 8 ½" tall with the lid on, and the acorn is 5 5/8" in diameter. A very fine piece to add to your Weller collection!
