1890's Oak Serpentine Front Claw Foot Dresser w/ Large Mirror
A large and very attractive claw foot oak dresser, ready for a new home. The dresser is dark golden oak. It has two upper drawers, and two long lower drawers. The drawers are hand dovetailed. The front is serpentine in shape, with a scalloped lower apron. There is very attractive applied carving on the mirror harp, and on the crest of the mirror. The dresser has slightly curved front legs with three toe claw feet. The brass hardware is original and in very good condition. There are locks on all of the drawers, but no key. One could be made by a locksmith. The beveled mirror is original to the dresser. The mirror has a few scratches near the top center and some nicks around the edge in the silvering. These are minor, and do not detract from the mirror, but must be mentioned for accuracy. The dresser has been professionally refinished. The dimensions of the dresser are: 44" wide, 21 1/4" deep and 77 1/4" tall. The mirror is 29 1/2" wide, and 23 3/4" tall. A stately and beautiful piece, perfect for that corner in your bedroom!
