Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Collapsible Canvas Water Bucket

Here’s a fun item for you D&RG buffs! This is a collapsible water bucket in excellent condition for its age. It is khaki colored canvas, with “D&RGRR” in transfer-style lettering on the side in brown/black tone paint. The top and bottom of the bucket are hinged, as are the sides. The bottom of the bucket (pail) is transfer lettered, “Duplex Water Pail, Westfield, Mass., USA, No. 12, Off’D, by The Planet Co., Patent No. 630922.” The patent date numbers are a little faint, so we could be off on the middle two numbers. The bail handle is in excellent condition, also. There is one 1” long rim fray from age and use on the top rim near the handle. The dimensions of the pail are; 11 ½” diameter at the top, 9” in diameter at the base, and height without the handle is 9 5/8”. This is certainly a fine piece to add to your Denver & Rio Grande collection!
