D&RGW Railroad 1935 Adlake-Kero Green Etched Globe Lantern
Here is a lantern you don‘t just stumble across every day. A 1935 Adlake-Kero lantern for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad in original excellent condition with lots of tin. This lantern comes with a prized aqua, or signal green Kopp short etched “D&RGW” globe in excellent to near mint condition. The 3 ¼” tall green globe only has a few inside flea bites on the top rim. These are very small, but need to be mentioned for accuracy. The top lid of the frame is embossed “D&RGWRR, The Adams & Westlake Co.”. The bottom of the fount holder is embossed “Adlake-Kero, 3-35, U.S.A.” with patent dates below that. The frame is very straight and solid, we only lightly cleaned it of some oil & dirt, but not much….all original! There is dark patina to the bail from years of use. The lantern comes with the original Adlake 300 burner and fount that will still hold oil and burn. This lantern is usually missing in most collections, so don’t miss your opportunity… before the train leaves the station!
