1895 Soo Line Railroad Armspear Lantern w/ Tall Clear Cast "Soo Line" Corning Globe
Here is a very nice Soo Line Railroad lantern that is sure to please. Made by the Armspear Mfg. Co., this lantern has the last patent date of May 28th, 1895, and is in original untouched condition....very straight! The 5 3/8" tall Corning globe is cast "Soo Line" in a square edge rectangular panel. It has a strong cast with the patent date of 1902 at the top, and a strong cast "Cnx" Corning logo on the back side. The globe has some yellowing from age. There are a few factory air bubbles and straw marks in the glass, but no chips or cracks. The top and bottom rims just have a few very minor inside flea bites. The twist-off fount and burner are in very good condition, and will still hold oil and burn. The top lid is embossed "Soo Line, Armspear Mfg. Co., New York". There is some minor light surface roughness on the top lid with a few dimples or dings. Under the lid it appears to have the lid latch replaced (see picture #10). Here is your chance to own a Midwestern railroad lantern from the turn of the century that is getting harder to find !
